Weds summary
Wednesday, 09 June 2010 21:51
Tough distance today but at least the terrain was pretty flat after about Wellington.
Excellent Italian meal this evening - none of that "east of Venice" food that I can't be doing with.

AND (another) great typo from Jon - the bacon lady mentioned wasn't having a sleep ... it was her Baps he meant to describe! (and I have to spend all day with him ... Day 3 - coninued
Wednesday, 09 June 2010 21:30

Longer day than we thought. Crossed over into Somerset. Lots if trainspotting opportunities. Bike much better with new brake blocks. Run to Bromyard tomorrow across the old Severn Bridge. Thanks to all our sponsors, money arriving daily for our charity. Lady in restaurant gave back our tip!

Day 3
Wednesday, 09 June 2010 12:34

Much easier today. Fantastic bacon nap from Sue at Buildbase in Wellington. Change of brake blocks from Ralph Coleman's in Taunton - nice people. Altercation with a car that turned in front of me; I banged on his roof though so that's 15 all.
Meeting my daughter in Clevedon tonight.

Day 2
Wednesday, 09 June 2010 10:27

Good news the yellow sock lost by Rob has been found in the landlady's daughter's bedroom!

Day 2 was the toughest day of cycling I've ever had over 5600 feet of climbing. Eat and slept well though.

Over into Somerset now.

What a day of climbs!! - but not too many showers ....and 3 visits from the tyre fairy :-(( Got to eat more tomorrow to keep the strength up.

Update on laundry at Tregolls - one sock disappeared overnight, makes cycling with just one leg a challenge.
