DEPLEJOG 21

As a newbie to cycling (I took it up during lockdown mk I), I trained for, and completed, London-Brighton (albeit in an unofficial capacity after it was cancelled - like everything else in 2020). After that, I needed a new focus. So, what better than throw myself into planning LEJOG?

Myself and my friend Phil will be taking a leisurely trip in July, taking about 3 weeks on the east-coast route (not set in stone yet) with a mix of camping/B&B’s. We are both in our mid 50’s so still young enough to take on this challenge but not so young as to want to do it in a week ?

I’m not sure what bike Phil will be using, but I am now the proud owner of Genesis Tour de Fer 20. Plenty of braze-ons to attach the essentials. I will load my bike up with a test weight and try and take myself up a local steep hill to see how I cope (East Dean hill will be a good test I think)
 

Really looking forward to the trip itself - and am enjoying the planning too.
